Review + Giveaway: Karas Kustoms

Review of Karas Kustoms Product
Karas Kustoms is a company that makes metal products.  My first thought when seeing some of their products was that they would be great gifts, particularly for men -- but that might be stereotypical of me!  I guess I just think of my husband when I look at some of these products, especially the pens.  I don't know about you, but if you're like me these products are awesome for women, too.

The product I selected was the Aluminum iPhone 4S Case.

Product Pros
  • Sturdy
  • Includes two back up screws and Allen wrench
  • Pretty self-explanatory instructions
  • Metal feels quality
  • Silver aluminum matches exactly with the silver on the side of my iPhone
  • No sharp pieces
  • Difficult to scratch
  • Doesn't add any noticeable extra weight to the phone
  • Case makes phone stand up straight or on side very sturdily, this could be nice if you're watching a video on your phone
  • The metal does not stand taller than it needs to around the buttons (meaning: you can easily press the buttons without having to go down in between the metal because the case stands right up against the phone -- but only where the buttons adding to the ergonomics of the case, but if you're husband then you'll think this makes it "asymmetrical.")
  • The aluminum metal actually helps protect the phone.  We weren't sure if there would be an issue with shock absorption, but apparently the aluminum does work for shock absorption to protect the phone if it gets dropped.
Product Cons
  • It feels weird in your hands, but you can get used to it (this isn't really a con), but some people have complained about it.  I actually don't think it feels weird since I've gotten used to it and I've had it on my phone now for at least two weeks.
Feedback
The first weekend I had with the case on, the husband and I went out to Taco Mac with a bunch of friends and two girls there were quick to comment on how much they liked the case.

On the plane last weekend, I was using my phone and the woman behind me as well as a flight attendant both commented on the case and I pointed them to Kara's Kustoms.

When I needed to head in to the Apple store to pick up something for my computer, the salesman was trying to show me how I can check out from my phone (did you know this could be done?!) and he saw my case and loved the "industrial" look.

When I was with some friends at Dave and Busters, a good guy friend of mine really liked it and asked if he could have it when I'm done with it.

Husband does not like the case.... but we often differ in our tastes.
I love the case and will be keeping it on for quite some time.

Would I Recommend?
Yes.  I know it's not a traditional looking case, but I love it.  If you're anything like me, you may like it, too.  The silver aluminum looks great with the silver metal exposed on the iPhone and even just with the phone over all.  I wouldn't necessarily say that I like the "industrial" look, but I love how sleek and modern this looks on the phone -- shouldn't technology look sleek and modern, anyways?

  3. I LOVE the aluminum case. I'm always looking for something unique for my iPhone 4. I don't like having things that everyone else I know has. I like being a trendsetter and this would definitely help that!
