Blog Angels

Photobucket
Hello, friends!  This month I'm participating in Blog Angels.  I wanted to do so back in June when they first were doing this, but it was obviously quite a busy month for me as I was getting married and took two trips to NYC (bachelorette weekend) and Hawaii (honeymoon) that month.

Anyways, I am doing so this month.  It's being hosted by Craftbotic and Dreamy Meadow and it was such a great idea of hers!  What it is is sort of like a blog Secret Santa: you volunteer to be a Blog Angel, answer a few questions about how you can help another blogger and what you maybe need help with from another blogger, and then get paired up with someone as their "Angel."

Now, I love who I got paired up with.  Of course, I don't know who my Angel is, but the main reason I always sign up for these things is to meet new bloggers.  I can definitely say that I met someone whose blog I love following and I might not have discovered her otherwise.  As far as helping her, I only hope I can!  She seems to have everything under control =).

Rosie from Craftbotic had a few of prompts for writing about our experience so far:

1. Do you feel like you are making a difference?
Hm, I have no idea.  I hope so.  I guess I could be doing better!  That's awful to admit, but it's true.  My girl seems like she is in a good position  -- but I'm also having trouble not revealing who I am.  I don't want her to think it's out of obligation, either.  In which I guess it is, but I'm having fun and like her blog so it's not really.  Okay, now I'm rambling!

2. How easy/difficult, fun/horrendous is it in reality?
I think I just answered that in my rambling above.  So to be short: medium difficulty but totally fun.

3. What have you learned from taking part in Blog Angels so far?
I've learned more about the importance of a blogging community.  I love meeting new bloggers but I think it can be incredibly valuable to have a community grander than the superficial one designated as the "Blogosphere."  I know I especially love what I'm doing but sometimes don't really know what I'm doing.  I still don't.  Legitimate feedback is incredibly critical to any blogger who really cares about their audience and their voice.

The next Blog Angels month will be this October!
You'll be able to sign up sometime before then!
I definitely think it is a wonderful idea and they
are hoping to hit 100 participants for October!
