Did you know that I have psychic abilities?

I took this picture last spring at Hurt Park.

I can't wait till it looks like this outside.

Ok. Well, that's not really true.
But it kind of is.
Since 7th grade I have been able to predict the Super Bowl winner.
Do I ever bet on it?
Of course not....I don't use my powers for evil.
Just kidding! But, I'm too afraid that the one time I bet on it with a bunch of people,
is the one time I am wrong. Then where would I be? Powerless.
Powerless stinks! Hahaha.
Well, this year, my boyfriend wanted to bet on not just the winner,
but the score.
He said Packers 20 something to teen something (I don't remember exact score).
I said Packers 30 something to 20 something.
Did I call it or what?
I told you. Psychic abilities. It's called clairvoyance and that is me!
Except, I'd rather have the power to never study and still get straight A's.
That'd be a more useful power than predicting the Super Bowl winner.
But, you can't pick your power, can you?

Haha, well now that I let you in on my little secret. I have a few pictures to share! As chapter president of Phi Alpha Theta (the national history honors society), I went with a group to the National Archives Southeast facility on Friday. It was actually kind of cool. It's located in South Atlanta (Morrow) and it houses SO much stuff! They have REAL documents on the Manhattan Project, everything NASA ever produced, speeches of Dr. King, manifestos from ships going in to the Charleston and Savannah harbors, slave trade papers out the wazoo, and so much more that the southeastern states ever produced, including Moonshine and Elvis Presley. Hahaha, wouldn't that be cool.

They also featured an exhibit by a photographer of the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s. Wow, if you only knew how much I wish I grew up in the 1960s. I snapped some shots of her shots... no, Dr. King, but hundreds of other moving pictures.

The life of a nursing student means that studying is never ending. So, for Super Bowl Sunday (which, by the way, is the February holiday for me: I never much cared for Valentine's day), I studied all day until 1730 (5:30PM) then cooked! I love cooking! I made pork medallions with wild grain rice. I got the recipe from a cookbook that I have, and, for the first time, I wasn't very impressed with the recipe. If I make it again, I am changing the sauce recipe (I wish I had gone with my instincts as I was cooking it). The sauce recipe called for way too much soy sauce, in my opinion, and therefore all I could taste when I ate the pork was soy and onions. It wasn't awful, it just wasn't impressive. I will change the recipe, though, and make it delicious. I love creating new recipes! But, at least the food, looked delicious!

The result (pork medallions stewing in the too-soy sauce):
The too soy sauce (it had orange juice in it, I forgot about that....

too bad I couldn't taste the orange yumminess):

Ah. The pork medallions tasted splendid.

Have an enchanting Tuesday!
