"Fear is just a misuse of knowledge."
- Unknown

On the way to the hospital incredibly early one morning, I was feeling a little uneasy and turned on the radio to distract myself.  I don't really listen to the typical radio stations (to be honest I listen to news / talk radio or our local Christian station -- or I listen to what's on my phone).  So, I turned on the local Christian station (104.7 The Fish for all you Atlanta/Georgia friends) and one of their lovely messages was on, normally by a leader in the Christian community, like Andy Stanley.  I have no idea who was talking during this message, but he said those powerful words that really hit home for me.  I told husband them when I got home and he loved it.  I was in lunch with a friend the other day and I told her them, and she loved it.  It just speaks volumes, doesn't it?  And I was struggling a little bit with my pediatric rotations, so that phrase just spoke to me.  I just wish I knew who said it!!

Challenge: what invokes fear in your heart?  Why?  Is it because you are doubting yourself?  If so, pray, and remember God would never give you more than you can handle.  And if you don't believe in God, then that's fine, because you have made it this far in life because you are smart, capable, beautiful.  If you feel overwhelmed or fearful, breathe it in, then breathe it right back out.  Because you are the best person for the job, even if it may not feel like it at the time.

  1. Wow...those are really powerful words!

There is nothing, NOTHING that I am more fearful of than something happening to my family. Sometimes when I think about it too much, it actually makes me sick. I know in my head that I have no control over certain things happening, but it is still a constant worry of mine.
